“ I just wanted to share with you some of my impressions from the conference. I have never enjoyed a meeting as I did in this 2nd SERI-ARVO. This was an excellent meeting not just because of its high scientific level and its efficient organization, but also thanks to the warm and friendly atmosphere. The party on Friday was most enjoyable, and the visit at SNEC and SERI on Wednesday was an important experience for me.
I was amazed at the Singapore national Eye Center and I was greatly impressed by the laboratories at the 5th and 6th floor. Talking with some people at SERI, and particularly with Leonard Ang, I found enthusiastic and dedicated physicians and researchers. I was glad to find true physician-scientists in your Institute, and to learn that combining clinical practice with basic research is one of the missions of SERI.
I've made a lot of new friends, which otherwise I'd never had the chance of meeting, and was happy to see again old friends (Sao-Bing Lee and Seng-Ei Ti, who were fellows with me at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute with Scheffer Tseng).
