The SNEC Institutional Review Board serves as the “ethical gate keeper “ to ensure that all research projects conducted in SNEC/ SERI observes the highest ethical standards. The IRB safeguards the rights, safety and well-being of all research subjects in accordance with the principles laid down under the Singapore Law, The Medicine Act, the Medicines (Clinical Trials) Amended Regulations 1998 and the Singapore Good Clinical Practice Guidelines 1998

The SNEC IRB is chaired by a SNEC Visiting Consultant, and has a composition of diverse members from the medical and nursing backgrounds, as well as representatives from the legal sector and the clergy.
