Most of our senior ophthalmologists acting as mentors are directly affiliated to the National University of Singapore (NUS), as part of its academic faculty.
Candidates, where feasible, may be taught to develop his or her own research project, to write competitive grants to fund the project, and to administer and conduct the research in a timely fashion.
Chances to collaborate with clinical ophthalmologists from the major ophthalmic institutions in Singapore , including the Singapore National Eye Center , National University Hospital , Tan Tock Seng Hospital and the Singapore Polytechnic.
Close integration of clinical and epidemiological research at NUS and SERI provides vast opportunities to translate these basic science discoveries into new diagnostic and clinical applications, as well as treatment modalities.
